Michigan Medicine Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, forward thinking brand/product analyst to support marketing and communication for HITS products and services. This role will execute effective employee communication, and support change management initiatives across the organization, based on the HITS strategic direction and priorities. The Brand/Product Analyst will work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment as a member of a multifaceted team. This person will work independently and proactively to support the strategic direction of the organization and provide support across the team on marketing and communication activities as needed.
Under general supervision, assists in the creation, promotion, implementation, and measurement of marketing communication programs.
Assist senior level analysts in the creation of goal-based marketing communication plans and strategies.
Complete audience and change impact analysis to help inform communication needs and execution
Understands and applies fundamental marketing and communication concepts, practices, and procedures.
Translate technical or strategic topics into easily consumed, appropriate communication tailored to various internal and external audiences.
Assist with website management and content development.
Participate in the design, development, and execution of marketing and communication resources including feature articles, press releases, websites, presentations, and talking points.
Leverage technology to optimize and increase innovative communication approaches to effectively reach all levels of an audience.
Develop stories, profiles, news, and announcements for distribution to both internal staff and the broader Michigan Medicine community.
Develop and coordinate communication for events such as all staff meetings, leadership forums, and key presentations.
Develop, track, and monitor communication measurements that are strategic, measurable, timely, and realistic.
Work collaboratively with other department and Michigan Medicine communications representatives.
Coordinate and track production of multiple deadline-driven projects, including multi-level vetting and approval processes.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in communication/marketing-related field; journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, or related field
Two to five years professional experience including creating and implementing communication plans
Demonstrated results developing communication campaigns and ability to understand and translate goals into a communication plan that resonates with intended audiences
Strong knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of public relations, marketing, communications, or change management
Demonstrated experience with project management and time management skills with the ability to follow through on commitments
Demonstrated experience developing, writing, and editing original work for a variety of vehicles both print and online (targeted email, websites, social media, presentations, feature articles, press releases) as well as reviewing communication work of others
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with solid understanding of digital media and html
Experience in web content creation/management
Must be comfortable in a multi-layered organization with complex relationship and executive reporting
Proven experience generating client satisfaction and developing solutions in complex matrix organizations
Track record of meeting deadlines and working in a fast paced environment, ability to be flexible to meet changing priorities
Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, ability to manage up and down, able to work in a team, effectively manages relationships
Detailed oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple duties and assignments
Communicates clearly in both written and spoken messages
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Must be self-motivated, flexible, and easily adapt to changing needs
Direct experience in a health care and/or academic medical center
Experience working in healthcare or higher education culture and structure
Knowledge of the University of Michigan and/or the Michigan Medicine organizational structure, culture, operations and procedures
Understanding of basic graphic design principles
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Drupal or other web editing software
Experience gathering, measuring, and evaluating web and email analytics.
