NAWIC is looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional to handle the following:
Publications: •Responsible for planning editorial calendar of bi-monthly online magazine: Write, edit and layout, NAWIC Today.
•Plan stories; call and interview chapter members, read chapters newsletters, interview, and write articles for the NAWIC Magazine. Focus is on NAWIC members, chapters and events. Work with online publisher to upload publication each issue
•Sell ads: Responsible for marketing, coordination and sales of ads for magazine. Must meet budgeted sales projections. Create annual marketing plan for outreach/sales.
•Actively seek articles of interest and compile NAWIC information for twice monthly e-newsletter. •Review and approve submissions from our publisher
Social Media: •Create and schedule new material based on NAWIC education and events; follow appropriate companies and people: and post/re-post social media posts on Facebook, and Linked on weekly basis.
Collateral materials: •Oversee production, write, edit and design any printed pieces, including brochures, fliers, postcards, posters, programs, etc.
•Write and edit material for national website. Work with staff to upload to website.
•Oversee production, write and edit copy for printed Annual Conference materials, including the Conference Promo, NAWIC Awards Gala Program, on site Program, and annual report.
•Collaborate on scripts for annual conference
•Create / oversee slide shows and videos for annual conference
•Serve as NAWIC media liaison.
•Oversee design/freelancer for printed WIC Week materials.
•Solicit bids from printers for any printed materials. Coordinate all NAWIC printing and mailing services.
•Write and distribute NAWIC press releases
•Work with third party on annual conference mobile app.
•Exceptional writing, proofreading, editing and layout skills * Magazine writing and editing experience
•Ability to deal with multiple projects in fast paced environment; quick turnaround. • Great attitude, independent worker and team player. •Self starter and creative mind. •Experience with working with media •Sales experience (magazine advertising) •Marketing and promotional experience •Experience with social media strategy and scheduling •Work directly with members to create scripts for annual conference understanding their tone and voice. Ability to create seamless segways. •Create and edit PowerPoint slide shows and videos. •Association experience preferred •Database experience desirable • Bachelors Degree in Journalism or Communications preferred Minimum of 5 years experience in writing and/or marketing preferred; strong customer service value; experience using email marketing software.
