The UW Athletic Marketing and Promotions Office is a department of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and operates under the Division for the marketing and promotions of 23 varsity sports generating ticket sales in excess of $20 million.
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing and Promotions, the incumbent will assist in –
Implementing marketing initiatives for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics
Promoting a positive image for Intercollegiate Athletics
Creating, implementing and executing various game day promotions
Driving increased ticket sales
This position will have limited duties related to all 23 of UW’s varsity sports
The position will have primary responsibilities of a combination of volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s hockey, women’s hockey, women’s basketball, wrestling and softball. Assignments may change over time as business need requires.
This position must work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions, Senior Staff and other support units to develop marketing and promotional strategies for UW sports and special events.
Developing ticket sales and marketing plans for their assigned sports.
Develop, plan, organize and lead the execution of gameday scripts and activities designed to deliver a professional, entertaining production.
Bachelor's degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
A minimum of three (3) years of sports marketing or relevant experience at the Division I intercollegiate or professional level along with demonstrated successful marketing and promotion experience in athletics, specifically ticket sales planning and execution is required.

Successful experience in management and supervision of internship or student programs;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe software;
Ability to work with students, coaches, and administrators in a broad range of situations;
Ability to work, willingness and mindset required to work long hours including evenings and weekends, and;
Thorough knowledge of the Athletic Department's operating procedures and an understanding of the components and complex departmental structures, which make up the Athletic Department's structure including NCAA regulations, WCHA and Big Ten policy and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and guidelines and experience working in an atmosphere of NCAA compliance.
Conditions of Appointment: This is an Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included. Anticipated start date on or after July 1, 2019.
