Marketing Coordinator The Marketing and Communications Office at Whittier College seeks a Marketing Coordinator. This position will report directly to the Director of Marketing and will be responsible marketing responsibilities including multimedia creation and social media management related to career and professional development. Provides additional support for other marketing needs related to alumni and student engagement. Will provide supervision of student workers in this area and will lead efforts to establish a College-wide professional development program for all work study students.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week Exempt Status: Non-Exempt Full Time/Part Time status: Full Time-11 month Salary Range: $19.82 per hour; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

Location/Department: Whittier College (Main Campus)/Marketing and Communications
Responsibilities: 1. Marketing and Social Media
In partnership with the Director of Marketing, develop a marketing strategy to promote events and programs related to career and professional development for students and alumni.
Maintain and execute an appropriate marketing calendar.
Using Adobe Creative Suite, develop needed print and digital collateral - flyers, videos, emails, newsletters, graphics, social media posts, etc. Produce needed marketing videos using Canon SLDR camera equipment and Final Cut or Adobe Premier Pro.
Oversee career-related social media channels, maintaining a relevant and goal-focused editorial calendar
Track and report social media analytics and analysis on a biweekly basis
Prepare a wide variety of promotional materials for all events, information sessions and workshops for Center for Career and Professional Development and distribute information to the appropriate channels
Keep current on emerging trends in social media as applicable to the college student population.
Manage the quality control aspect of Whittier College's website using SiteImprove software to identify errors such as broken links and misspellings
Manage the event calendar on the College website
Curate, design, schedule, and manage content for television screens in the Science & Learning Center using SpinetiX software.
2. Program and Event Support
Provide support for the College's Handshake online database
In partnership with Office of Career and Professional Development provide event support as needed.
3. Student Staff Supervision
Maintain job descriptions for all work-study positions in the Marketing and Communications Office and apply for special funding as necessary
Develop and execute professional development program for Whittier College work study students.
Coordinate hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, payroll and daily supervision of student staff.
Delegate and oversee clerical work to student staff and oversee all exception funding procedures.
4. Office Management
Manage and update the office calendar and event calendar.
Manage supplies and ordering for entire office. Other duties as assigned

Position Specifications and Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Highly motivated independent worker with problem solving abilities essential. Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to maintain professional demeanor with students, faculty, staffand employers. Ability to contribute to and participate in collaborative team-based projects. Ability to multi- task in fast-paced environment. Must possess engaging demeanor and exceptional follow-through capability.Needs to perform organizational tasks with efficiency and enjoyment. Must have proven ability to plan events and carry out associated logistical tasks.High level of competency in computer programs, including, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite. Excellent data management skills, including bookkeeping, required. Competency in managing social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest, required, as well as basic knowledge of graphic design. Experience supervising student workers and working in a college environment highly preferred. Good sense of humor and creativity are essential.
Knowledge and Education: Bachelor's degree in a closely related fieldand experience working in higher education is preferred.
