The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) is searching for a Marketing Communications Director to join our team! We are looking for a self-motivated and established candidate with at least 5 years progressive work experience in internal and external digital and traditional marketing strategies and communications.
The Director will drive creative concepts and innovative marketing campaigns to increase member awareness of the value of the FICPA. Successful campaigns will also generate revenue or membership growth/retention.
Reporting to Executive Officers, the responsibilities for this highly visible leadership position include managing external marketing consultants and guiding staff by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, and building awareness and positioning for FICPA activities. This position is full-time, and candidates must reside in the Orlando, FL metro area. On occasion, overnight travel is required along with the ability to work some evenings/weekends, based on business needs.
Essential Job Functions
Serves as the oversight director over external marketing consultants regarding all creative marketing initiatives.
Oversees development and implementation of all aspects of internal and external marketing including strategic planning, member and market research, messaging, collateral design/content, pricing, positioning, production, advertising and budgeting.
Develops and implements public and media relations activities, including public-awareness campaigns, video projects, news releases, print/radio/television media interviews, electronic newsletters and related publications, earned media, crisis communications, etc.
Serves as the project manager for each department’s marketing campaigns to optimize workflow and ensure project completion.
Provides strategic direction on the development of collateral for each department, incorporating data analytics and SEO.
Develops and implements an integrated strategic communications plan to advance the Institute’s brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities; and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences.
Responsible for internal and external communications content including publications, website, social media, video and other digital communications. As needed, assists in gathering material, writing and/or editing content.
Assumes fiscal responsibility for the marketing budget, including annual budgeting, approval of invoices and review of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
Other duties needed to help drive the vision of the FICPA and related entities, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values.
Occasional overnight travel is required as well as frequent travel to the Tallahassee, FL office.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or other relevant discipline.
At least 5 years progress work experience in internal and external digital and traditional marketing strategies.
Experience in an association or other not-for-profit is preferred.
Possession of a State of Florida Class E Driver's License and must be insurable to drive a personal or company vehicle.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to motivate, guide and assist staff, while dealing effectively and diplomatically with them.
Knowledge of design and execution of multi-media marketing, video, communications, social media, journalism and public relations principles, laws, ethics and policies, publication production.
Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) or similar desired.
Experience and understanding of SEO and data analytics.
A professional and resourceful style with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks/projects at a time to meet deadlines.
High level skills in writing and editing, planning and coordination of numerous tasks, and using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
The ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing, perform under time constraints and pressures, and work independently.
Ability to travel throughout Florida, as well as work evenings/weekends as necessary.
