A job with Student Affairs Marketing provides students the opportunity to work in an agency-like atmosphere where creative problem-solving and collaboration with colleagues lead to the development of effective strategies to build awareness, engagement, and action from target audiences. All Student Affairs Marketing staff will contribute to the creation, implementation, and assessment of various marketing and communications initiatives.
The Graduate Marketing Operations Coordinator serves as a connector and amplifier of the many programs, events, and services provided to the IU community by the Division of Student Affairs and its 19 departments. This position organizes various calendars and initiatives within the Student Affairs Marketing team to ensure timely marketing messages and promotions are shared on relevant platforms to reach target audiences as well with key partners throughout the University.
The Graduate Marketing Operations Coordinator is someone who is interested in marketing and communications. This position helps strategize various marketing solutions as well as gather and examine assessment data based on various digital marketing efforts.
Essential Functions:
Collaborates with full-time staff and other communications team members to organize and prioritize coordinated story and promotional plans to be shared in emails, social posts, news stories, and other platforms.
Implements and updates marketing efforts across a number of platforms - online calendars, digital signage across campus, websites, print marketing distribution, and other platforms - following a daily, weekly, and monthly task list.
Responsible for making necessary updates to the various websites within Student Affairs using the Content Management System.
Works closely with campus partners to ensure the work of the Division of Student Affairs is adequately promoted throughout the campus community.
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled as a graduate student at Indiana University.
Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines. Fine attention to detail. Professionalism, dependability, and respect for others. Exceptional communication skills. Exceptional decision-making skills. Ability to perform well in a team-oriented, collaborative atmosphere. Strong sense of curiosity and creativity. Motivated, strives for ongoing improvement and passionate about learning. Ability to receive constructive criticism in order to improve skillset. Positive customer service attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of effective marketing tactics. Experience with data gathering and creating reports. Experience with project software programs. Experience using SalesForce or similar mass email marketing systems. Experience using Website Content Management Systems with some knowledge of HTML.
