The Water Information Sharing and Analysis Center (WaterISAC) helps its members - water and wastewater utilities in the U.S., Canada and Australia - improve their security and resilience when confronted with terrorism, cybersecurity threats, and other hazards, both natural and man-made.
The Opportunity and Position:
The Membership Engagement Manager will help grow WaterISAC’s membership, support current members, and help utilities protect their consumers and communities from terrorists, hackers, and other hazards.
The right candidate will take an entrepreneurial approach to creating and implementing strategies to steadily grow membership in the coming years. He/she will strengthen the organizational brand, build member relationships, and help expand member services.
This position will report to WaterISAC’s managing director and will become an essential part of a highly integrated team.
Responsibilities:
Works closely with the managing director of WaterISAC to develop and implements membership recruitment and retention strategies and plans.
Refines and articulates the organization’s value proposition to improve visibility among key audiences.
Ensures brand and message consistency across all communications platforms including promotional and membership materials, website, social media, presentations, media relations, and more.
Conducts outreach to current and prospective members.
Tracks engagement with members and prospective members and proposes strategy adjustments based on data.
Maintains databases of prospective members.
Works with vendors and a graphic designer as needed.
Engages and networks with members on a one-to-one basis.
Researches prospective members.
Requirements:
A minimum of five to seven years’ experience in marketing- or membership engagement-related positions.
Excellent writing skills. The position will draft, manage, write, and edit emails, memos, promotional material, newsletters, website content, leadership briefing materials and other associated materials. The position will be exemplary at grammar, punctuation, and usage.
Excellent interpersonal skills. The position will interact with members and potential members regularly and must be adept at conversation, listening, relationship building, and note-taking.
Demonstrated knowledge of marketing strategies, best practices, and analysis.
Knowledge of Google Analytics or similar tools.
Willingness to learn.
Proven ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, self-starting/entrepreneurial environment.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Interest or experience in cybersecurity or security is highly desired.

This position will work remotely, until the AMWA/WaterISAC Washington, DC offices reopen for all staff. Other remote options will be considered.
