The MerrellMarketing Manager leads the development and execution of strategic marketing plans and activations centered on Merrell’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives including, but not limited to, JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion), Conservation, and Sustainability. Partners with marketing team and cross-departmental stakeholders to strengthen and inspire Merrell’s action and reputation as a change leader within CSR. Responsible for developing and executing creative promotional and public relations strategies for the brand’s initiatives that generate positive publicity, create and activate influencers and advocates, and secure buy-in and enthusiasm for the Brands CSR commitments with internal and external audiences.
Owns and executes CSR marketing strategy in partnership with brand leadership that differentiates Merrell, reinforces brand purpose, and meets established strategic goals, budgets, and timelines.
Leads the development and execution of the brand’s annual CSR Report.
Shares existing and emerging CSR best practices and brand opportunities with leadership along with recommended next step action plans, by mastering and staying current on relevant industry and external issues.
Champions internal social accountability and sustainability task forces comprised of cross-departmental team members in order to establish and drive action plans set against key goals and manages all internal employee communication to increase understanding of brand’s position.
Develops and executes an inspiring and compelling annual integrated CSR marketing plan for the brand that delivers against key business objectives.
Partners with product team to align on responsible processes and material usage and owns development of sell in materials that articulate and amplify sustainability efforts.
Leads the deployment of CSR marketing plans globally by partnering with regional teams and stakeholders.
Ensures consumer insights are embedded cross functionally with a global view.
Shares progress and results of programs against set goals and KPI’s and provides key learnings and opportunities for future success.
Acts as a brand representative to effectively message company positions, corporate goals, and objectives to digital audiences. Identifies target audiences for messaging and designs communications that engages the reader.
Owns internal CSR initiatives including, but not limited to, Volunteer Time Off program, CSR newsletters, and other community and culture-building activations.
Performs duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, preferably with a major in Marketing or Communications
5+ years of marketing experience in areas such as brand management, integrated marketing, or marketing communications.
Previous supervisory skills preferred.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proven track record for developing and executing new initiatives and driving change.
Creative and collaborative with development and execution of integrated marketing plans that influence key stakeholders.
Strong project leadership, organizational skills, and experience with indirect management of team members through influence.
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically while demonstrating a strong sense of business acumen.
Comfortable in fast-changing, fast paced environment with multiple projects and tight deadlines.
Proven passion for CSR and Social Accountability.
Some travel may be required.
