The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for outreach, marketing, social media, website management, and communication efforts for the School of Social Work. Reporting to the Dean, this position works closely with the School's administrative leadership team, faculty and staff as well as others in the broader PSU community. The manager maintains an annual marketing plan and consults with academic and research units on their implementation of recruitment and enrollment initiatives through marketing, communication channels and strategic events. The manager supervises one or more student employees. This position is a 12 month appointment at 0.75 FTE (30 hours per week). Primary responsibilities include (but not limited to): marketing, social media and communications.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree. - 3+ years of related experience. - Knowledge of Drupal or other web content management platforms, and social media applications. - Experience using a style guide and brand guidelines for design and writing. - Experience with media relations. - Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical and scientific information; and disseminate in a format that is digestible for a variety of audiences. - Strong writing skills with ability to develop content to reach various goals; experience in digital communications writing and web writing. - Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Applications. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to bridge across functions and partner with faculty researchers, administrators, students, business professionals and other stakeholders including alumni. - Ability to effectively manage multiple projects. - Goal orientation, adaptability and flexibility. - Advanced skills in time management. - Demonstrate interest in and ability to realize the mission, values, and vision of the School of Social Work, particularly those with knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to racial equity and related frameworks. - Successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with higher education and graduate programs preferred; - Experience leading and coordinating department level communications and marketing initiatives and programs. -Knowledge or experience with graphic design; -Proactive, creative, innovative self-starter.
