We own our building in Kansas City, MO where we house the world’s largest library on old truck materials.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communication and Marketing Specialist will oversee the:
Development and implementation of a new marketing strategy
Development of new communications channels to engage members, potential members, the media and industry
Expand current communications programs, through increasing audiences and messaging
Generation of timely, relevant content for members and the industry at large to distributed through various media types
Marketing and communications programs to improve and evolve our current approach and identify new opportunities, generate awareness, build engagement, and drive revenue

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Executive Director to lead the strategic development and tactical implementation of all marketing campaigns, deliver on established KPIs, and support revenue streams across the organization
Expand and monetize ATHS’s social media outreach and work with Executive Director to develop social and digital strategy
Develop ongoing email communications campaigns.
Manage the development, writing, and design of marketing materials such as brochures, direct mail pieces, print ads, flyers, email, online ads, search engine ads, etc.
Oversee analysis and metrics for all major campaigns
Create communications collateral, including press releases, blogs, news briefs, articles, columns, speeches, PowerPoint presentations, letters to the editor, social posts, pod casts, and videos.
Work with ATHS leadership and stakeholders across the organization to improve awareness of the organization and the services we offer
Manage website in content management system and work with ATHS staff to ensure website is kept up-to-date
Collaborate and coordinate with ATHS stakeholders to improve aspects of website, including user experience, landing pages, and lead generation
Assist Chapters, Divisions and regions to develop communications and programming to maintain consistency across all markets
Support magazine editor in communications development and strategy
Work with and liaise to volunteer committees, to take greatest benefit of the willingness of members to support the plan
Liaise with industry to maintain the broadest possible face to the media and public.
Qualifications & Requirements
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be flexible under pressure
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or equivalent years of experience
5 years of related work experience in member based nonprofit associations
Proficient in all digital communications formats
Proven experience managing multiple marketing plans and timelines with concurrent communications deadlines
Independent, organized, resourceful, creative thinker and team player
Excellent communication skills, with elite writing skills and the ability to write creatively, clearly and concisely to diverse audience segments
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Proficient in Marketing Automation and CRM
Experience in a marketing position
Experience with Raisers Edge and Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required.
