The Graduate School at UMBC serves the greater graduate community at the University by providing administrative support to all graduate programs, students, faculty and staff. We help facilitate and guide students from initial interest in graduate studies all the way through program completion and beyond with postdoc and professional development opportunities. The Marketing Coordinator will exercise independent decision making in managing Graduate School admissions communication activities including leading CRM activities, managing the Graduate School's social networking efforts and social media accounts and utilizing trend data to improve these efforts. The incumbent will maintain email communications with inquirers, as well as communications with applicants.
The incumbent will also create and manage marketing projects and serve as a website administrator. These activities will assist the Graduate School with our efforts to be more responsive to our applicants, conduct more extensive outreach to prospective students and make our marketing efforts more efficient through systematic inquiry tracking and effective use of social media.
While we transition beyond the work environment changes necessary for us during the COVID-19 Pandemic, we expect the incumbent to start with four (4) in-office days and one (1) remote day during the work week.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree.
Marketing or related experience preferred
Basic understanding of graphic design or related skills
Strong written, copy and interpersonal communication skills
Organizational and time management skills
Customer support experience
Experience with CRM systems (please list specific platforms and skill level)
Interactive social networking both in-person and online
