Detailed Job Description Position Summary: The Marketing Specialist will provide support to the Assistant Director of Brand and Advertising. They will help manage relationships with agencies and vendors, and coordinate execution of marketing strategies and campaigns. The position will work closely with the creative, social, web, and analytics teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. This position will also be responsible for marketing activities that span multiple colleges and/or divisions; they will keep partners informed, provide assets, and ensure integration at both departmental as well as university-wide levels. This person will be committed to brand education and, in collaboration with their supervisor, identify areas of growth such as developing templates and toolkits, offering brand training to new employees, and keeping the brand portal up to date. The Marketing Specialist will support the Assistant Director of University Brand and Advertising on areas of trademarks, merchandising, and licensing, and any other projects deemed necessary to advance the departmentand the Divisionforward. . MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with teams across the Division to ensure campaign deliverables are on time and within budget.
Liaise with external partners and agencies; develop understanding of and communicate roles and responsibilities of internal and external teams
Educate the campus community on key marketing and brand initiatives; provide assets, resources, and metrics to understand and ensure all touchpoints are in-sync.
Look to identify opportunities for ongoing brand education and implement as resources allow.
Begin to develop relationships with student groups, either formally or informally (or both), to stay relevant and create brand ambassadorship for RIT overall.
Manage content and updates for the brand portal and other internal touch points, document processes, and providing additional support.
Stay up-to-date with the changing face of the marketing and media landscape, especially as it relates to digital media; recommend and execute new ideas and programs to continue to propel RIT forward.
Required Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience: Marketing, New Media Marketing, or related field
Experience Candidates must have 2-3 years experience in marketing or advertising, preferably in a higher education or agency setting.
Understanding of the marketing campaign process and basic marketing strategy concepts.
Experience with of a wide range of marketing tactics; understands the distinct value of earned, paid, shared, and owned media
Experience in client service or account management with a focus on responsiveness, listening, and problem solving
Must have strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented
Superb work ethic, a drive to exceed expectations, and a commitment to personal accountability
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Team player with proven cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to work independently
Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
Strong written and verbal communication skills; recognizes the importance of communication in successfully managing relationships
Experience in an agency setting
