DIRECTOR OF EVENT MARKETING, MIT Technology Review (MIT TR), to own the development and execution of online and offline initiatives to drive brand awareness and audience; achieve attendee revenue goals; and build loyalty for in-person, virtual, and hybrid MIT TR events. Responsibilities include cultivating interest in how technology affects business and society and building the MIT TR brand and expanding it through events; creating multichannel event marketing plans; overseeing and executing marketing plans for events and custom client activations, optimizing the customer journey across multiple channels; owning copy and creative execution creation for event promotions; collaborating with internal teams to optimize a user experience that reflects each event's editorial content; managing external agency relationships; reporting to key stakeholders on campaigns and generating ideas to test new ways of driving leads and increasing registrations; collaborating on optimizing UX, traffic, and content of event websites; experimenting with new platforms and implementing new processes; and providing event PR support as needed.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: B.A./B.S. in marketing, marketing communications, or related field; five years' marketing experience, preferably with events; experience leading and managing digital and social marketing, including email, newsletters, organic and paid social media, display advertising, and search and print channels; solid understanding of website and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), social media listening tools, audience segmentation, and surveys to optimize user funnels and landing pages; experience collaborating across multiple stakeholders and with leadership and external agencies; excellent project management skills; meticulous attention to detail; success strategically identifying and growing high-quality leads for event attendance; and working knowledge of ad serving tools, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints.
