The Director of Annual Giving Direct Marketing reports to the Associate Vice President of Annual and Leadership Giving and is responsible for the operation, execution, and analysis of all annual giving direct-response initiatives. They are charged with setting and meeting the annual goal for alumni participation. This includes retaining and acquiring annual donors to the university. The Director is also responsible for the strategy to increase opportunities for current-use fundraising initiatives. They will develop mass-marketed stewardship programs to establish and strengthen consistent annual giving patterns. The Director is expected to meet annual goals through an integrated direct marketing plan of solicitations, stewardship, alumni and student volunteer engagement, and fundraising. Goals will be achieved in collaboration with members of the Annual Giving Programs team and the Alumni Communications & Marketing (AC&M) team.
The Director will develop and implement direct-response marketing including direct mail, email, in-house phonathon program, and comprehensive annual campaigns such as Giving Day. The director will work with AC&M to develop the strategy, including content and design of all marketing needs for meeting annual goals. This includes determining segmentation strategies and targeted messaging for various constituencies.
In partnership with the leaders from annual and leadership giving and AC&M, the director will establish and maintain the direct marketing calendar. The director will consult with the annual giving programs team on annual fundraising campaign strategies for the senior legacy campaign, GOLD (graduates of the last decade), reunions, and law. Additionally, the director will partner with University Advancement colleagues for other constituency groups such as parents and athletics supporters.
The director is responsible for managing ongoing operational aspects including pledge fulfillment, matching gifts, online giving pages, direct marketing tracking and results reporting. The director will serve as the team liaison for all annual and leadership giving technology. They will monitor results of campaigns through data analysis and benchmarking, and will identify opportunities and solutions for improvement.
Full Time Equivalent Hiring Range: : $97,550-$121,950
This position requires aminimum of six years of direct-response fundraising experience. Considerationwill be given to candidates with experience with print production, dataanalysis, and cost analysis with strong communications, organization,analytical, and problem-solving skills. A strong candidate will also haveexperience with automated phonathon operations and a familiarity with the currenttrends in Web and email-based fundraising. Must have proven experience managing staff and student workers. Thecandidate must be an excellent manager of time, projects, and people, beself-motivated and able to work well both independently and cooperatively withproven success working as a member of a team while exhibiting a high degree ofprofessionalism, tact and diplomacy. Strong computer skills, budget management, and familiarity with a CRMdatabase are required. Demonstratedability to speak and write persuasively about higher education and the Jesuittradition is highly desirable. Must be available for occasional evening andweekend work to meet job responsibilities.
