Position Summary
The Director is responsible for leading individual giving, and stewarding donor support for LMM programs, strategic priorities and fundraising initiatives. The Director will create a Donor Engagement & Moves Management Plan, with support from the VP of Development & Communications, and strategize and steward contributions of annual gifts, major gifts, planned gifts, and legacy gifts. This person is also responsible for coordinating two major fundraising appeals each year and various program specific funding appeals with department leaders as needed.
Some of the duties include:
Participate in the creation and execution of the Donor Engagement & Moves Management Plan to secure contributions to LMM
Coordinate fundraising appeals with Communications Staff and program leaders to ensure development materials are compelling, complete and up to date
Implement strategies to ensure coordination between various fundraising campaigns and solicitations
Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of LMM, its funding priorities, and giving opportunities
Manage and grow the portfolio of our active donors
Facilitate moves management of donors, including prospecting research and strategy implementation
Collaborate with agency programs and other initiatives to engage donors and volunteers in programs
Develop and maintain reporting and tracking methods for fund development prospects
Maintain accurate records of charitable giving and giving ranges for donors
Track and assess committed pledges, payments and totals
Participate in the planning and execution of special events, annual agency fundraiser(s), etc.
Make presentations to major donors, community groups and entities about the agency
Attend special events as a representative of our agency when needed
Our ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing or public relations preferred, OR an Associate’s Degree and 7+ years of fundraising experience. The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience with annual campaigns, major gifts, or planned giving and a minimum of 5 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, public relations/marketing. Experience with donor CRM’s/database, a valid Ohio driver license and proof of insurance, required.
