The instructor chosen for this position will join the Department of Marketing at the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB). We seek candidates with the ability to educate high-achieving students enrolled in Marketing courses. Lecturers may teach during fall, spring and/or summer session undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong expertise in Marketing concepts developed through industry or research experience. Highly-qualified candidates will have experience in training or delivery of Marketing concepts either internal or external to their organization.
Experience working with Learning management systems, such as Canvas or blackboard. Experience working with and serving diverse learners is also preferred.
The Marketing department is rated among the top programs in the country for research productivity. The department has strong undergraduate and MBA programs. We are also proud to be part of a great university with excellent resources available to both faculty, staff and students. The Wisconsin School of Business offers degrees in Marketing at the undergraduate, master's, and PhD level. The School currently enrolls approximately 3,500 undergraduates, 600 masters, and 70 Doctoral students.
Principal duties: This position will teach undergraduate or graduate course(s) determined by department needs and candidate's expertise.
Examples of courses for instruction may include: -311 Management and Marketing for non-Business students (on-line) -355 Marketing in a Digital Age
The Lecturer is responsible for course work preparation in alignment with learning outcomes; original content creation; on-line and/or classroom instruction; holding office hours; and exam preparation, administration, and grading consistent with the policies of the WSB under the general supervision of the Chair of the Department.
Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
45% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
40% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
5% Provide career guidance; serve on committees at the department, school or campus level; take part in corporate engagement.

Required: Minimum Master's degree required; preferably in Marketing or in a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Marketing or a related field.
Preferred: Some experience teaching both on-line and in person preferred. The ideal candidate will have the credentials or expertise to instruct a wide variety of courses in Marketing.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration:
Terminal, 9 month appointment. This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding
