In collaboration with the VP of Marketing and Communications and senior health system leaders, the Director of Marketing leads the development of the organization’s marketing plan, and marketing strategies to build and protect El Camino Health’s brand and support growth. The Director of Marketing takes customer and market insights to lead efforts to increase recognition, understanding, knowledge, and demand of El Camino Health’ services with employers, consumers, physicians, associations, and other healthcare providers, throughout the markets we serve. She/he leads enterprise-wide efforts to better understand consumer needs for healthcare services, ensure consistent messaging and branding across touchpoints, and deliver effective marketing campaigns. Included in the responsibilities are oversight of the following: development and optimization of patient acquisition and retention campaigns, brand marketing, content and digital marketing, website content, and sponsorships and events.
The Director of Marketing serves as a lead interface with service lines and departments, physicians, health system leadership and affiliated groups. She/he ensures that clear communication and effective collaboration between Marketing and other departments occurs. This role requires a consumer and physician-centric approach and is reliant on strong influencing skills as well as positive internal and external relationships for success.
The Director of Marketing manages marketing performance data and analytics to support enterprise-wide key metrics, and develops key insights and recommendations on how to improve marketing performance. She/he manages marketing staff and multiple outside vendors and partners. Responsible for managing to budget.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree, in marketing, business, or communications. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in marketing and strategic marketing.
Minimum of 10 years management experience required.
Strong knowledge of healthcare or services marketing with a track record of success in marketing hospital/health system or healthcare products and services preferred.
Strong knowledge of marketing best practices
Strong written, verbal, interpersonal communication, active listening and political acumen skills and advanced skills to represent the team and department with other institutional and/or external constituencies
Experience in development of direct-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing plans and tactics such as advertising, relationship marketing, collateral, website, creative campaign development, digital marketing and social media, ethnic marketing, special events and tracking/measurement to report performance of impact of marketing initiatives.
Strong analytic skills with particular emphasis on digital marketing, campaign optimization, customer data analytics and CRM experience required.
Experience in setting and managing Google Ad products and Social Media platforms
Strategic and analytical thinker with a drive towards execution and delivering results
Exceptional project management & organization skills with the ability to balance multiple projects
Superior strategic planning, critical thinking and communication and business writing skills
Best in class team building and engagement skills
Ability to work some evenings and weekends
