In this new role, the Senior Marketing Manager will ensure that marketing-related projects within MarComm flow efficiently among the creative, multimedia and editorial functions and in collaboration with a wide range of campus partners. The Senior Marketing Manager will facilitate internal workflow and serve as an essential campus liaison for intake, concept ideation, material review, and production. This individual will use their organizational and analytical skills to keep work on deadline, handle logistics, keep all parties updated on progress, and track projects from initiation to completion.
As a key member of the Marketing & Communications team, the Senior Marketing Manager will lead in the development of project management, workflow, and tracking processes to support the creation of original editorial design, brochures, publications, recruitment and fundraising collateral, and electronic communications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in collaborative planning in order to ensure the effective and timely delivery of high-quality materials and assist in promoting the overall creative capabilities of the Office of Marketing & Communications. Coordinate projects through task management, organization, and disciplined communication and follow-up, using good judgment to effectively prioritize simultaneous time-sensitive requests from multiple people.
Create detailed schedules and set deadlines for various stages of a project. Distribute assignments to creative teams and other departments, depending on their availability and priorities.
Monitor projects and workloads, adjusting assignments and deadlines as necessary to keep work on track.
Communicate plans and progress to all partners and resolve timeline issues as needed. Creatively problem-solve and collaborate to effectively keep projects on track toward both short-term milestones and long-term strategic objective.
Ensure that projects meet partners' expectations and objectives.
Understand processes and manage expectations appropriately with respect to various turn-around times for all aspects of production, creative, deliverables, QA, and metrics trafficking
Assess requirements of active projects against team assignments and work schedules to ensure high utilization rates among teams and workloads right-sized to capacity.
Prepare weekly "hot sheet" and share updates with MarComm team members.
Display an appropriate sense of urgency, prioritization, and tenacity relating to meeting project milestones on a timely basis
Provide operational assistance in other areas of MarComm effort, including planning and producing the print version of Clark magazine.
Job Requirements:
The position requires a creative, service-oriented, self-driven individual with a no-problem attitude and a keen attention to detail, who also can demonstrate the following:
Bachelor's degree with at least 3-5 years of experience in marketing and/or the creative design process.
Outstanding organizational and project management skills and a proven track record of success in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Proven ability to work quickly and efficiently, juggling multiple projects at the same time, many with competing or aggressive deadlines.
Ability to communicate, both through written and verbal means, around timelines and offer constructive feedback in a professional manner with people at all levels of an organization.
Outstanding listening skills.
Experience in capturing project requirements and creating timelines for projects all media types, including print, digital, video, photography, and environmental.
Proficient with project management and collaboration tools such as Basecamp, Asana, Trello, Microsoft Office/Teams, Zoom.
Preferred
Experience working within a creative services agency or department.
Experience in magazine production.
Familiarity with printing specifications and working with vendors for offset, digital, and large-format printing and promotional assets.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
