The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) is seeking a Marketing Manager to drive marketing initiatives for the association’s educational and networking events, membership and various products and services. Key responsibilities include participating in the development of marketing plans and leading implementation of all promotional efforts. This is an ideal position for a marketing professional who appreciates the teamwork, give-and-take of the creative process and the deadline orientation of a busy in-house marketing department. The Marketing Manager is also responsible for database management, social media strategy and related tools.
HIDA is the trade association representing medical products distributors. HIDA members deliver essential medical products such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the nation’s hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, home care, and physician practices.
Established in 1902, HIDA is a leading voice on matters important to the healthcare distribution industry and the healthcare supply chain as a whole. HIDA offices are located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and operates on a 3 days in-office, 2 days remote schedule.
This position provides an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and knowledge to grow and develop the marketing strategies at HIDA. The Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Marketing. The position interfaces with internal peers in events, education, membership, and communications.
Essential Responsibilities: Marketing 1. Develop and lead the execution of integrated marketing plans to achieve program and budget goals. 2. Initiate and lead the creation of marketing brochures, flyers, e-mail promotions, digital ads, social media and print advertising. 3. Provide project management oversight to internal processes to ensure timely delivery of effective marketing materials for events, products and services. 4. Write and edit marketing copy for all marketing collateral and other deliverables. 5. Interfaces with internal customers to set marketing strategies and progress updates. 6. Develop and disseminate post-event reports to analyze marketing effectiveness. 7. Oversee the event registration, marketing, website development, list development for all promotions. 8. Identify and manage relationships with external vendors to provide needed services such as printing, mailing, production, copywriting, digital and design as needed. 9. Supports membership team with marketing collateral for lead generation, recruitment and retention efforts. 10. Manages and maintains consistent HIDA visual image and branding. 11. Manages eNewsletter sponsorships including scheduling ad placement in the eNewsletter and coordination with the advertising company. 12. Manage registration set up for event launches.
Database 1. Responsible for database management efforts and maintenance of targeted member and prospect lists used for marketing purposes. 2. Responsible for targeted list development for marketing promotions and services directed to members and prospects. 3. Responsible for maintaining e-mail returns and entering e-mail data and newsletter subscribers in database. 4. Serves as the lead contact with the email blast program and ensures it is properly connected to the database. 5. Monitor HIDA@HIDA.org for database edits.
Social Media 1. Develop and implement social media strategy and vendors. 2. Write copy for social media posts and SH blog. 3. Coordinate artwork development for all social media platforms.
Education/Experience • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications. • Association marketing experience preferred. • Minimum of four years of marketing, public relations, and/or communications management experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Computer experience working with databases and customer information. • Experience using html authoring software. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail. • Writing and proofing skills for a variety of vehicles including letters, emails, ads, flyers, brochures, publications. • Ability to work with teams. • Exceptional time management skills and commitment to deadlines. • Knowledge of email blast systems and survey software, a plus. • Knowledge of digital ad platforms/google analytics; a plus
