Description:
Position Summary This position will work in collaboration with the CEO to support the overall development, implementation, and evaluation of a strategic communications program that will strengthen the reputation and identity of the UI Health Mile Square Health Center (MSHC) Enterprise. This role will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will work on the development and maintenance of communication tools, mechanisms, and strategies to increase information, knowledge exchange and communication standards across MSHC. Ensure strategies, internal communications, events and programs are aligned with MSHC's strategic goals and initiatives and manage assigned project budget. This position also works closely with all health sciences communicators and stakeholders to promote the strengths in education/training, research/discovery, clinical practice, public service and community engagement impact of the health enterprise.
Duties & Responsibilities
Identify and publicize activities and events that are newsworthy to key audiences, including health sciences students, campus partners, UI System stakeholders, elected officials, and more.
Research, propose, coordinate, and publish communications that support MSHC's mission to educate future generations of healthcare leaders and personnel.
Research, propose, coordinate, and publish communications that support MSHC's mission to inform, interact with and positively impact the unique communities and patients served by the Mile Square enterprise.
Act as an internal consultant with engaging the OVCHA office of communications, among other units, to establish and articulate UI Health aligned projects, their scope, strategy, and objectives.
Develop, implement, and regularly communicate clear policies, procedures, channels and best practices for disseminating content and executing communication/marketing strategies.
Collaborate with the Creative Design and Web & Digital teams to achieve optimal results from marketing and communication campaigns.
Develop, implement, and regularly publish MSHC specific communication output to various stakeholders such as the MSHC Newsletter, the 'Conversations with MSHC Community Engagement series' among other communication initiatives.
Manage and adhere to budget limits on marketing activities and track related expenses in accordance to marketing plan or health system initiative.
Under direction from the leadership, grow, maintain, and update the MSHC website and social media content.
Assess, maintain, and manage alignment of MSHC physical and digital signage to UI Health policies and standards.
Coordinate and lead meetings with college, hospital administration leaders to gather necessary information.
Assist and support the implementation of brand standards for physical and digital signage across the health enterprise and the university.
Leverage content to elevate social media engagement as well as increase institutional awareness.
Represent MSHC on Communications and University related workgroups.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, branding, public relations or a related field required.
Knowledge of the various techniques for successfully disseminating information to the public and targeted audiences through various channels of communication including: print, web, email, social media
Excellent computer/pc skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, along with other related software such as Adobe and Illustrator.
Demonstrated writing and editing skills
Interpersonal skills, excellent presentation, organizational, analytical, time management and communication skills
Demonstrated capacity to lead, manage and facilitate decision making towards organizational change and performance
