The Director, Events & Promotional Marketing develops, coordinates, and implements strategic promotional marketing plans to drive attendance, enhance fan engagement, increase sales and improve gameday fan experience across all venues.
Responsibilities: - Create and execute long term strategic vision for Events and Promotional Marketing department - Coordinate and lead fan engagement brainstorming sessions to generate ideas and create opportunities to enhance fans' interactions with our brand - Develop all pre-, post-, and in-game promotional activities to enhance revenue and improve game atmosphere. - Create promotions targeted at specific fan segments per department research - In coordination with other external-facing team members, assist in crafting game day materials such as scripts, directing in-game timing and execution of promotions, on-field game presentation, video board features, music, public address reads and other elements during the season - Manage other assigned gameday responsibilities such as game day preparation (set-up/tear-down, etc.), - Ensure all promotions are in alignment with overarching departmental marketing strategy in collaboration with ticket sales, marketing, digital media, communications and development. - Once completed, evaluate programs and make changes when necessary - Assist in planning and execution of special projects or events related to the athletic department and support efforts for all sports. - Provide leadership and manage daily operations for 4 events & promotions staff members. Provide events & promotion staff with guidance and support while fostering an inclusive environment that encourages creativity and growth. - Collaborate and communicate with BSP multi-media rights team to create unique sponsor activations that meet all contracted requirements and provide value to both parties. - Collaborates with vendors to enhance activations to maximize fan experience
Responsibilities:

20% Directs strategic planning initiatives and establishes objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, staffing resources, and alignment with the strategic plan
20% Directs marketing campaigns by contributing information, analysis, and strategic thinking establishing functional objectives in line with organization goals
15% Analyzes marketing trends and critical measurements of productivity and customer service to implement marketing operational strategies
20% Builds brand identity and awareness for the division among internal and external audiences, ensuring consistent image and identification with the brand across all marketing and communications efforts
20% Develops comprehensive marketing plans that encourage research-based, market-driven programming and outcome evaluation, including cost and effectiveness measures for marketing initiatives
5% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees

Education:
Preferred Bachelor's Degree Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, Education, Sports Administration, or related field.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of combined professional experience in promotional marketing and/or event presentation with at least 1-2 years of experience managing others. - Applicants with relevant experience in collegiate or professional athletics may also be considered for the Assistant Athletic Director, Events & Promotions job title. - Highly motivated, innovative and creative, self-starter - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Extraordinary focus on customer service; service and solution oriented - Must possess a good understanding of athletics and be able to work in a fast-paced, environment. - Ability to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
