Through daily interaction with our branded channels, the Social Media Manager will serve as both the lead and contributor in engaging audiences in conversations and activities to help them make informed decisions about their health, education, finances and more.
We're looking for someone who is highly creative, analytical and nimble with a growth mindset to:
Lead the small but mighty Social Media team to develop and implement social media engagement activities for all U.S. News verticals: Education, Health, Money, Real Estate, Careers News & Events, Cars, Travel and 360 Reviews.
Create and distribute content across multiple platforms - including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube - designed to build audience engagement as well as leverage the platforms to drive qualified audience acquisition.
Stay abreast of the latest social media technologies and tools and identify areas for growth.
Work collaboratively with the public relations team to identify engagement opportunities for our annual launches and subject matter experts.
Are you up to the challenge?
Create / daily management of organic and paid media ad campaigns across multiple platforms, including Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and LinkedIn, to achieve specific business objectives, such as driving traffic, increasing conversions and boosting brand awareness.
Conduct thorough research and analysis of target audience demographics, behaviors, interests and preferences, and use this data to inform campaign strategies and tactics.
Maintain, develop, and optimize U.S. News' existing social media platform strategies, including establishing new presence on emerging platforms.
Create and review organic social and video content, as well as social campaigns, ensuring traffic and growth targets are met.
Monitor and proactively increase social traffic, growth, and engagement performance across all verticals
You should definitely have:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
3-5 years professional experience building brands and engagement on social platforms
Interest in digital media trends and emerging platforms
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong emotional intelligence
Passion for all things social and be an avid consumer of media!
It would be nice if you had:
Agency or similar experience working with multiple industries at the same time
Experience in Meta Business Manager and the backend of Facebook
Experience setting up Facebook Ads pixel configuration

In New York, the anticipated base salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
