In-house, full service graphic designer who will work on a wide range of creative projects and design formats. This role will assist in the development of creative initiatives and projects with a strong understanding of typography, imagery, and creation of graphic elements applied to layout, while adhering to the Weill Cornell Medicine brand standards, scope, and budget.
Job Responsibilities
Designs original creative elements and adapts them to ensure continuity of the Weill Cornell Medicine brand throughout all collateral.
Leads certain design projects including, but not limited to flyers, direct mailings, and posters.
Builds motion graphics and animated compositions from static 2D design and artwork.
Collaborates with External Affairs' teams and WCM Clinical departments on a variety of project types, including but not limited to print and digital ads, emails, brochures, postcards, and billboards.
Conceptualizes and builds custom creative concepts for promotion of physician practices and clinical departments, and enterprise-wide initiatives.
Create and design custom items that are visually appealing and reflect our brand strategy to encourage brand engagement.
Proofs all materials in an accurate manner, delivering high-quality, on-time and error-free drafts.
Maintains asset libraries with current logos, images, and common elements to aid in the efficiency of the Weill Cornell Medicine Office of External Affairs. Build out suites of assets and templates to support advertising, promotions, and events.
Serves as a brand ambassador regarding logo usage and graphic standards.
Maintains ongoing internal communication with key partners as needed. Builds rapport with WCM staff and external customers (e.g., consultants, vendors).
Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience
At least 5 years of graphic design experience required
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver), Windows OS, HTML, CSS, WordPress, and Microsoft Office, including animation skills
A portfolio that demonstrates strong design and creative project experience.
Previous experience in designing other assets needed such as Zoom backgrounds, selected webpages, iconography, and digital posters.

Ability to produce on target designs from a creative brief or concept is vital.
Demonstration of a clear understanding of design principles, trends, and practices.
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Detail-oriented, self-directed, creative, and dedicated.
Ability to easily network and build relationships with colleagues and clients.
Flexibility to manage multiple tasks, and ability work well under tight deadlines.
Previous experience working in Workfront and Monday.com is preferred.
Experience creating social media posts content across all social channels but specifically, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize workload to meet deadlines, with minimal supervision. Able to meet deadlines, often with short notice. Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to assist and collaborate effectively and efficiently with team members.
