The department of Athletics at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Senior Associate Athletics Director for Marketing.
The Senior Associate Athletics Director for Marketing will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Athletics Marketing unit. This position will develop, recommend, and implement marketing and promotional strategies and policies which will increase awareness and attendance; responsible for generating revenue for intercollegiate athletic programs via ticket sales and corporate sponsorships. The primary responsibility of the position is to supervise and develop employees, and to increase revenue to the University through innovative ticket sales by connecting with tens of thousands of prospective customers and fans throughout the nation. Performance requires strong supervisory skills, creativity, accuracy and professionalism with consciousness of the image projected through the media and the public.
Master’s degree, preferably in sports administration, business administration, marketing or similar field. Relative experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing, preferably in sports, and direct advertising sales.
