The Director for Marketing and Communications at Digital and Lifelong Learning (DLL) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has primary responsibility for strategy and execution of a development, marketing, recruitment, and communications functions that positions DLL effectively with its internal and external constituents and successfully contributes to attracting the financial support necessary for operations. This includes acting as development lead and working directly with potential donors, communications lead representing DLL on campus, head of marketing efforts for DLL programming and supported campus programs, and manager of recruitment and inquiry functions.
Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
At least five years' experience in marketing, recruitment, communications, development, and/or public relations.
Ideal candidates will have experience in more than one area and will have specific experience in some of the following: Develop, implement, and monitor an overall communications plan. Develop communications standards and guidelines to provide consistent quality of message, visual identity and branding across multiple programs. Develop and/or approve communications materials, such as annual reports, newsletters, program brochures and fliers, news releases and other promotional materials. Develop and implement internal communications processes and tools. Plan and manage marketing and communications budget(s). Develop and implement marketing plans across a variety of programming. Develop and implement recruitment strategies and plans across a variety of programming. Manage recruitment teams. Assess marketing and recruitment efficacy and adjust approaches accordingly. Develop and implement fundraising strategies and plans. Manage donor relations and interactions. Coordinate fundraising activities for one or more units under an institutional/organizational infrastructure.
