The Director, Annual Giving & Direct Marketing will provide leadership and management for a comprehensive annual giving program to drive the acquisition and maintenance of donors and dollars. Specifically responsible for developing and implementing an annual giving and annual giving marketing strategy to expand Babsonâ™s donor base and increase annual giving from all constituencies inclusive of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, corporations/foundations, and friends, providing analysis of campaigns and fundraising activities, and managing annual giving operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Establish and execute an annual giving and annual giving marketing strategy and outreach plan to successfully contact the entire pool of Babson constituencies with the ultimate goal of growing the number of undergraduate alumni, graduate alumni, and parent donors annually.
Partner with the Assistant Vice President, Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving, the Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving Leadership team, and the Advancement Communications team to prepare and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing plan (i.e., direct mail, email, phone, social and digital) and marketing calendar for each fiscal year.
Align all annual giving marketing initiatives to maximize regional, class and affinity outreach and engagement efforts.
Manage annual giving operations, including but not limited to creating and maintaining prospect portfolios for the team, designing and maintaining a dashboard to report out on progress towards annual goals, calendaring for all phases of fundraising, and managing annual fund contracts.
Direct the planning and execution of signature fundraising campaigns, including but not limited to Make Your Mark and Fiscal Year End and Calendar Year End Campaigns. Collaborate with Senior Associate Director, Annual Giving Marketing to conduct comprehensive analysis of each campaign.
Oversee and execute annual fundraising strategies for key constituents including alumni, leadership giving, faculty/staff, and parents. Develop innovative strategies to increase alumni giving participation utilizing volunteers, communication platforms, and recognition programs.
Develop strategy, inclusive of a stewardship component, to grow Presidentâ™s Society (leadership giving) and parent giving.
Develop a recurring donor strategy in support of the Collegeâ™s alumni participation goals.
Create and implement a strategy to cultivate non-donors to philanthropically support the College.
Utilize technology and social media to create and implement innovative annual giving programs to connect with current donors, establish new donors, and increase annual giving.
Develop measurable goals and metrics to routinely monitor the impact of annual giving activities on the success of donor acquisition and retention. Establish and maintain tracking and testing methods for all solicitation initiatives and adjust strategies based on results of data analysis.
Provide training and professional development opportunities focused on fundraising for colleagues as appropriate.
Manage the annual giving budget to yearly goals, both revenue and expense.
Collaborate closely with Advancement Communications and Advancement Services to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, accuracy, and quality of programs and data.
Serve as liaison to Babson Alumni Advisory Board (BAAB) Vice Chair of Fundraising to foster BAAB support for fundraising activities.
Attend and contribute to signature alumni engagement activities, including but not limited to Back to Babson and select events.
Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
Bachelorâ™s Degree
A minimum of 10+ years of successful work experience as a fundraising professional and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing staff and a budget
Must have program management expertise with a strength in analytical skills.
Proven track record in discovering, cultivating, soliciting, and closing mid-5 figure gifts.
Must have experience in using social media to leverage effectiveness of fundraising program.
Must have strong supervisory skills and a collaborative style.
Must have excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish creditability and confidence with stakeholders.
Demonstrated effectiveness in working with a diverse student body, faculty, staff, and other constituents.
Must have strong technological skills including proficiency in common Microsoft Office programs, donor records systems, messaging applications, and internet research.
Ability to create an environment where direct reports have the freedom and security to take initiative; deal with complexities with resilience, resourcefulness, and optimism; and appreciate open mindedness, creativity, and agility in thought and tactics.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK
Requires work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week (Monday and a minimum of 2 other days; additional requirements based on outlined department policy); the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.Â
