CLA is seeking a highly motivated and strategic-minded Membership Engagement Manager to join our small team. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving the growth and retention of our membership, playing a key role in shaping the future trajectory of our association. The Membership Engagement Manager will have the unique opportunity to make a significant impact by implementing innovative sales and marketing strategies to attract new members, enhance engagement, and strengthen relationships within our industry.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive membership acquisition and retention strategies to drive growth and engagement through proven sales performance skills.
Identify and cultivate new leads and prospects through targeted outreach efforts and strategic partnerships.
Assist with upholding the integrity of the membership database. Must be willing to learn association management software and maintain full accountability for accuracy of membership reports.
Act as a primary point of contact for existing and prospective members, providing exceptional customer service and support.
Identify and manage membership benefit offerings and new member royalty programs.
Track membership metrics for board reports and internal analysis.
Manage external relationships with CLA Business Solutions companies to offer royalty programs and CLAdvantage Rewards Program participating companies.
Work with the Director of Advertising and Sponsorship Sales to develop and manage the membership champion program.
Serve as liaison to the Membership Value Task Force to execute objectives aligned with CLA’s strategic plan.
Qualifications:
5 + years’ experience in membership development and sales, or related roles, preferably within a non-profit association or similar organization.
Proficient and knowledgeable with tools like Microsoft Office and familiar with membership database systems. Experience with HubSpot a plus.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; excellent presentation skills.
Persuasive communicator, exceptional interpersonal skills, and ability to foster member relationships.
Accomplished organizational and project management skills; ability to initiate, plan, prioritize and oversee multiple projects successfully and meet frequent deadlines simultaneously.
Must have integrity and earn credibility with members, board members, vendors and staff.
Ability to think strategically, independently, proactively and creatively.
Results and deadline driven with strong ability to work independently.
