JHU Carey Business School is seeking a seasoned marketing professional for the position of Marketing Manager.Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will be primarily responsible for program marketing and promotion efforts at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School for the full-time Johns Hopkins MBA degree program and other degree programs as assigned. In close coordination with other marketing and communications staff, they will develop an integrated marketing plan. They will work with Carey?s media agency of record, and any additional 3rd party vendors contracted to the school, to ensure Carey is implementing best in class acquisition and retention strategies while also responsible for implementing marketing initiatives.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Lead all acquisition and retention marketing efforts across all advertising mediums, as related to their assigned program(s).
Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies and plans for the full-time MBA and specific degree programs as assigned.
Lead engagement / relationship management strategies, leveraging direct marketing tools (e.g., email and other CRM tools) to drive results.
Fully understand competitive landscape, monitor, report and provide marketing insights working in concert with sr. market research manager.
Fully understand target market and work with the external agency to create personas.
Work closely with the MarComm creative team and external agency to determine strongest messaging and creative to best reach the target market.
Utilize and optimize SEO/SEM, email campaigns, user experience, digital advertising, and promotions to build brand/program awareness, generate leads and engagement with participants.
Work in partnership with social media team to deliver strong social media marketing support across programs.
Measure and analyze campaign data using KPI?s and make adjustments to continue to drive ROI and apply learning in new marketing planning.
Drive implementation of best practices through all channels.
Ensure brand consistency across all marketing activities within assigned programs (e.g., website, emails, social media, events, flyers, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Excellent ability to develop strategic integrated multichannel marketing plans and outstanding ability to execute against those plans.
Ability to clearly articulate (written and verbal) strategies and plans to achieve goals.
Experience in optimizing marketing funnel from brand/program awareness to conversion to retention.
Excellent understanding of lead generation conversion funnels.
Superb understanding of how all digital marketing channel's function including hands-on experience with SEO/SEM and emails.
Experience in working with automated customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Experience with automated marketing platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot).
Demonstrated capacity for leadership, with strong management skills and the ability to influence effectively.
Self-starter and can lead independently and proactively.
Results-oriented with high standards for self.
Ability to identify research needs and work with resources to gain the knowledge needed.
Proven track record of success with paid digital marketing tools and strong consumer instincts.
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, and high attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative skills to build and influence strong working relationships across all departments and JHU-schools, and with key MarComm teams including Creative, Communications, and Research.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Four years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Eight to ten years marketing experience preferred.
Five plus years digital marketing experience (e.g., SEM/SEO/Email/Social/SMS/web) preferred.
Higher Ed experience is a plus.
