Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Director of Annual Giving Direct Marketing, the Assistant Director is responsible for coordinating year-round operations and management of Boston College's student outreach center, with the goal of increasing discretionary dollars raised, overall alumni giving participation, and increasing meaningful stewardship channels to leadership donors. In addition to contributing to fundraising goals, the Assistant Director is tasked with the development and implementation of stewardship initiatives for annual giving donors. This position assists with all aspects of the student outreach center.

Responsibilities include:

• Hiring, Training, and Retention: In Collaboration with the Associate Director, the Assistant Director coordinates the ongoing recruiting and hiring operations of students to maintain a staff of up to 10 students. Creates process and documentation for the implementation of an onboarding, and performance evaluation program with employees. Monitors and coaches employees to ensure maximum quality and effectiveness and implement strategies to motivate and reward exemplary employee behavior and results. Assists in the oversight of the student outreach center budget and preparation of the student payroll.
• Program Strategy and Operations: Assists with the development and implementation of annual fundraising and strategy for the outreach center. Works closely with the Associate Director to develop an annual engagement calendar, write scripts, produce videos, and track results. Analyzes performance reports to strategize outreach segments. Coordinates daily schedules and organizes engagement pools and makes on-demand adjustments as needed to ensure a productive and effective working shift. Manage pledge fulfillment process and collaborates with Annual Giving Direct Marketing and Advancement Communication teams to develop mail, digital, video, and text communications and creative. Recommends strategies to improve immediate and post-call gift fulfillment.
• Vendor & Technology Management: Manages daily use of applicable software and coordinates with vendors and BC's Advancement Information Systems to maximize product features and updates. Requests data resources for the outreach center to maintain updated data and facilitated automated and manual operations for engagement and fulfillment. Troubleshoot software, gift processing and technical issues as it relates to the -program and provide solutions to applicable parties.

Occasional weekend or evening work. The typical work schedule is 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Five days a week.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The salary range for this position is listed below with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $57,800 - $72,250

Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and either a minimum of three years of directly related direct marketing experience or a combination of professional fundraising and other directly related experience with proven organizational and project management skills, preferably in an institution of higher education in a campaign environment or in comparable settings. An aptitude for numbers, data and analysis is essential as is an ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of student employees. Staff management and higher education telemarketing experience strongly preferred.
