The Director of Marketing is both a strategic leader and a hands-on marketing professional responsible for managing, executing, and optimizing the organization’s marketing and development efforts. This position requires a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, with the Director actively involved in day-to-day tasks such as writing emails, managing campaigns, updating content, and analyzing results, while also driving high-level strategy and internal team coordination. The role centers on the development, maintenance, and execution of a comprehensive and cohesive marketing program for all Society products, services, and activities. The Director works closely with executive staff to implement inclusive marketing and online development strategies and provides innovative leadership in shaping SNMMI's marketing and development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop long-term marketing and branding strategies to support overall organizational goals.
• Campaign Management: Lead and actively participate in the creation and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels (e.g., digital, print, social media), including writing copy, setting up email sends, coordinating assets, and monitoring results.
• Hands-On Execution: Serve as a working director who engages in the direct execution of marketing tactics — writing and scheduling emails, managing content updates, creating reports, posting to social media, and operating marketing platforms such as CRM and email tools.
• Budget Oversight: Establish, manage, and allocate the marketing budget effectively to optimize campaign performance and return on investment.
• Leadership: Lead and guide the marketing department, overseeing their day-to-day operations and projects while actively collaborating with them on deliverables.
• Market Analysis: Research and analyze market trends, member preferences, and competitor activities to inform strategy and adjust plans.
• Performance Measurement: Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of marketing efforts and create comprehensive performance reports for leadership.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments, such as Education, Membership and Communications, to ensure integrated strategies and achieve company-wide objectives.
• Brand Development: Maintain and promote a consistent and positive brand image for the Society and its products or services.

Essential Skills

• Leadership & Management:
• Provide leadership while actively contributing to deliverables.
• Ensure all marketing and non-dues revenue (including charitable giving) aligns with the organization's overall strategy.
• Manage tradeshow marketing efforts, print ads, websites, collateral, signage, and promotional initiatives.
• Supervise and support staff using collaborative and consensus-building techniques.
• Facilitate professional development and mentorship of assigned staff.
• Serve as staff liaison to the Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging Week Task Force and PDEF committee.

• Develop and implement long-term marketing strategies to support non-dues revenue programs, services, and products.
• Collaborate across teams to incorporate diverse ideas and perspectives.
• Oversee and execute online and annual giving strategy and implementation.

• Monitor and analyze marketing campaigns through reports and tracking tools to ensure cost-effective efforts.
• Generate routine sales and performance reports for society programs and products.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategies, collaborate, and write promotional materials.

• Create and manage detailed marketing budgets with a focus on ROI.
• Monitor financial trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Project Management:
• Organize, prioritize, and directly contribute to multiple concurrent marketing projects.
• Manage timelines and ensure accurate execution of campaigns.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or communications.
• Ten years direct experience in non-profit marketing.
• Minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory or mentorship role.
