SALARY/BENEFITS: NADP salaries are currently benchmarked to the median of ASAE data for trade organizations of similar budget and staff sizes with national scope. In addition to salary, there is potential for up to a 10% annual bonus based on performance. NADP also provides a benefit stipend of approximately 100% of health/dental/vision premiums of NADP offered coverage and an employer matching contribution up to 5% of salary deferral into self-directed 401K with a 3-year cliff.
NADP provides new employees with 8 holidays and 2 personal days with pay each year; 10 days of paid vacation (increases to 15 days after 10 years of employment); and one day of sick leave each month (can accrue to 240-hour maximum). Leave levels increase starting in the third year with NADP. Limited tuition assistance for position-related course work is also provided.

DESCRIPTION: The National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) seeks a self-motivated, experienced professional with a background in membership and marketing to lead NADP’s activities and policies related to membership in NADP and association marketing. This includes leading initiatives to identify and recruit new members, retain existing members, and identify new opportunities to raise NADP’s profile generally. Leading more junior staff, the Director of Membership and Marketing also oversees the structure and composition of NADP’s volunteer working groups and the association’s technology. The Director of Membership and Marketing leads association communications including the regular production of association newsletters and e-media.
As Director of Membership and Marketing, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Recruitment & Retention of Members – includes serving as staff liaison to Membership Work Group; developing & launching recruitment campaigns; attending conferences of other associations to promote NADP and build relationships with potential new members; onboarding new members
Market NADP -- Develop and lead NAPD marketing activity, particularly as it relates to member recruitment and retention, increased participation in NADP’s in-person and virtual activities, and enhancing the reputation of NADP generally
Content and Branding - Develop and lead development of NADP member materials, including newsletters, promotional materials, and e-content; Oversee all aspects of NADP’s branding strategy
Revenue Diversification - Develop and lead initiatives to increase the diversity of NADP’s revenue sources; deepen participation in NADP’s sponsorship and associate membership programs; better monetize NADP’s research and other products
Technology Lead: Lead and manage NADP’s social media, graphic, and video strategies; continuously improve NADP’s website including user experience and content management; Optimize NADP’s technology environment, including measuring user experience, cybersecurity, and overseeing relevant vendors; catalyze NADP staff adoption of new technologies and technology best practices; Oversee staff IT support and onboarding/offboarding of staff
Working with more junior staff, oversee:
Membership Operations, including:
Database administration – report writing, troubleshooting, & training staff to use it, data entry as needed.
Volunteer recruitment for all groups – Develop & launch annual call for volunteers, respond to members about the work of each group & their assignments; update database on all assignments.
Billing & collection for new members & renewals.
Membership Directory Updates – Collecting both company information and contact listings; maintain membership database; overseeing the production of various versions of Online Directories
CDT Licensing Program Administration– billing/collecting fees, answering questions regarding license issues, informing new members of program; sending funds &reports to American Dental Association
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in association membership and marketing required. An advanced degree is preferred but does not substitute for experience. The following capabilities are also required:
Association background and/or experience with coalition or stakeholder engagement preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Word; ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
Familiarity with social media and internet-based tools.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
